Access to the Homestead’s driveway is via Tuohy’s Gully road which is shown on the map below.

Getting here by road

From Wanaka (20km)

Take Cardrona Valley Rd towards Queenstown and 200 metres after the CARDRONA DISTILLERY turn into the signposted SNOW FARM access road on the left. Go over the small bridge and you will see the sign on the right hand side directing you right to WAIORAU HOMESTEAD.

From Queenstown (35km)

Take SH6 towards Cromwell, at Arrow Junction take the Crown Range Rd towards Wanaka and 2km past CARDRONA HOTEL turn into the SNOW FARM access road on the right. Go over the small bridge and you will see the sign on the right hand side directing you right to WAIORAU HOMESTEAD.

From the West Coast

Lake Wanaka and Cardrona Valley are approximately 2 hours from the West Coast. The Haast Pass is a beautiful scenic drive, and is highly recommended. To get to Cardrona follow signs to Wanaka and then follow the instructions above.

From Christchurch

This drive through the McKenzie Country takes in stunning views of Lakes Tekapo and Pukaki as well as Mount Cook – New Zealand’s highest mountain. To get to Cardrona follow signs to Wanaka and then follow the instructions above.

By air

From Queenstown International Airport

40 minutes drive

From Wanaka Airport

20 minutes drive
a) Hire a car in Wanaka township
b) Take the local shuttle bus to our gate
