“ ‘Welcome’  is the greeting at the entrance of your lovely house and indeed that’s how we felt during the entire period spent here. Your place is like heaven on earth! Thanks to your invaluable advice we made the most of our trip. Thank you kindly for all attention, we loved every minute here.”
– Fernanda and Gerhainer – Brazil

“We just wanted to sincerely thank you for the absolutely wonderful 3 days at your home. Everything was either beautiful, comfortable, or yummy!  The best was your warmth and generosity of heart.  Simply put,  you made this the best stay we’ve ever had anywhere.”
– Wimmie and Daren – Hawaii

“Thank you for everything you have done. You are two of the most remarkable people we have met, we will definitely recommend your place to our family and friends. Our experience in New Zealand was wonderful; staying at the Homestead was the best choice we made. Words cannot explain how well you have taken care of us. The Crown Range will forever be our extreme experience – even after sky diving and bungy jumping!”
– Priscilla and Joey – USA

“Its been a buzz the last few days
Hard to describe in many ways
But to Ann and Blyth your home has style
You do it well – and always with a smile
From food and wine to friendly chat
We’ve had much fun – and you can’t beat that
But we’ll be back – just don’t know when
And until we do, thanks once again.”
– Chris and David – Sydney, Australia

“AMAZING! We are already planning the next visit. Thank you for your kindness”
– Sarah and Steve – Australia

“Thank you for such a warm welcome to your lovely home. You have been excellent hosts- good food, wine and company.  Auspicious links!  Such small world. You have a super family and great to meet you all.  Good luck for 2009.”
– Neil and Pat, Paul and Moira – England

“We enjoyed staying at your home very much and next time we will stay longer. We got private and personal six–star–service.”
– Andreas and Claudia – Germany

“A quick note to say thanks again for your warm hospitality & fine service at the “Beagle House” (as the kids now refer to the Homestead). I know we raved on while we were there “blobbing” but we just wanted to say again how lovely the homestead is, how welcome you made us feel & of course how absolutely delicious Blyth’s cooking was.  Hopefully we will be fortunate enough to be able to come & stay with you again one day soon. All the best to you & to the future of the Waiorau Homestead.”
– Michael and Patrice – Australia

“My husband and I stayed here for two nights; the hosts were fabulous, the rooms so luxurious we have been spoiled for ever. I couldn’t rave enough – this place is a hidden but worthwhile treasure.”
– Tui and Don – New Zealand

We stayed in 9 B&Bs and 2 motels during our 3 week stay in the South Island and after much weighing and consideration, this has got to be THE best B&B we stayed in, considering the location, spatial environment, the hosts personality, the food and the comfort. The offerings far exceed the price paid – so, great value indeed. Hosts Ann and Blyth have a beautiful home sited on a generous piece of land in Cardrona, with a dramatic tree-lined drive in that leads to a marvellously proportionate 1 storey house with a pool&poolhouse. The interiors are extremely tastefully decorated (Ann’s forte) and the bed was one of the most comfortable we slept in. We had arranged for the home-cooked meal by professional chef Blyth – that was really fun and an awesome experience, both for the cuisine and the interactions. We also loved getting to know the hosts’ children/grandchildren who were coming in for xmas. Many moments spent in the living room, reading and relaxing with a glass of wine. The external garden is amazing, and we had a great time exploring, walking and observing nature. Most of all Ann is an extremely relaxed and chill hostess who is quite happy to chat and talk, and all very genuine. We felt very relaxed and charmed by the environment and it was quite hard to leave. Thank you Ann and Blyth for a wonderful time. In our opinion, this should really be one of the most highly rated B&Bs in all of NZ’s south island.
