The Waiorau Homestead is nestled on picturesque farmland where we have three beautifully appointed bedrooms to choose from, private guest lounge and dining room, outdoor spa and fireplace and many other guest services and amenities to make your stay a memorable one.
Our central location in the Cardrona Valley between Wanaka and Queenstown makes Waiorau Homestead Lodge a fantastic base for exploring the region with an easy commute between these two beautiful districts.
You can simply relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings of Wanaka and the Cardrona Valley or, if you are energetic, there are countless local activities to choose from - including hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, quad-biking, skiing and snowboarding as well as a wide range of boating activities. A large number of world class wineries, galleries and boutique shops are also within easy access.
The Cardrona Valley is home to a unique ski resort in winter and the Homestead is situated just two minutes from the access roads to three ski fields - the Cardrona Alpine Resort, Waiorau Snow Farm, where the Winter Games 2011 will be hosted (August 15 - 28, 2011), and Snow Park NZ. Coronet Peak and The Remarkables ski fields are only 40 minutes to the South with Treble Cone ski field 30 minutes to the North. We are also less than 2 kilometres from the world famous Cardrona Hotel - New Zealand's oldest hotel.
Your hosts, Blyth and Ann, have extensive background in the hospitality industry including a number of years in some of New Zealand's most well known tourist resorts and have now settled in beautiful Wanaka in the Central Otago area. We are happy to escort you on your Central Otago experiences. Blyth is an experienced fisherman, hunter and outdoors enthusiast. Ann can guide you to local activities - best shopping and wineries being top of the list!
